Lake Henshaw Restaurant on the way to Santa Ysabel Casino

This was a run that we were invited to with North Coast Vettes.

This cruise is to share time and gratitude with the men in the School of Infantry at Camp Pendelton, they have this as relax area on Saturday.

We all brought snacks & goodies for them to enjoy while they played ping pong, video games, watch movies or visit the library, the YMCA created this facility, it is a converted gas station for them to enjoy their leisure time before being deployed to their next assigned schools or duty stations.

We all had a blast and cheered and thanked them all for the dedication and service they provide, they were very appreciative, all had a real great time. These guys sure make all of us proud.

We then headed for the bowling alley, many enjoyed a couple of games, off to the base club where we chose and cooked our steak or chicken dinners on the outside grill, all the fixings were added to create a fantastic meal. What a great afternoon and event.

We couldn't have asked for better weather, we cruised up RT.76 thru the mountains to Rt.79 then onto S22 into Ranchita, what a breath taking view of the desert.
Corvette roads to be sure, plenty of curves, twists looking down into Borrego we visited THE MALL which has a lot of very unique spot to shop in, antiques, Indian Clothing, Paintings a lot of culture, as one person stated this store, RAMS HEAD is to die for.

The ride up the hill is such a beautiful one and cool, this time of year, one more month it will be to hot to enjoy desert. Some of the shops close till October.

We then headed for Julian to view to PRIVATE COLLECTION of Vintage Corvettes, they were a great sight to see these models, that brought many memories of great time in Corvette history, this is a growing collection and we were very privileged to be invited to view the infancy of this collection.

Keep your eyes open, many of the cars will be featured in car shows thru out Southern California they have drawn crowds when they do.

What would a trip to Julian be, without a stop for Apple Pie and Ice Cream ?

I don't know but it was not going to happen on this trip.

What a fun filled day, come join us in the fun and adventure of stretching the legs on your Corvette.

Edelbrock founded in 1938 strives to make the best products available in the industry, catering to the street legal rodders, to flat out racing products

The quality control is fantastic EVERY product is tested before it leaves the company.

We were privileged to tour the Corporate offices in Torrance, Vic's Garage and showroom, also the manufacturing facility in Torrance, there foundry is located in San Jacinto just outside of Hemet.

Our group was so excited to see the quality and pride that goes into each and every stage of production. Made in USA was a welcome site to see.

The tour also included visit to the Design room, Dyno demonstration, performance testing and evaluation to work areas where the products are installed and tested on vehicles for guaranteed satisfaction to the end user.

The new line of Endurashine finished products were amazing, you talk about low upkeep, just spray Windex and it clean up to be the bright, clean looking item like the day it was manufactured.

Asked if they had items for the newer Corvettes, they are currently working on exhaust systems and Vic just bought a 2006 Z 06.They commented WOW what a car it's hard to
imagine how to improve on the great engineering that GM has done on this car.

There hospitality and enthusiasm were fantastic, visit www.edelbrock.com to view the complete products they offer.
